In order to better assist in getting to know one another, allow me to introduce myself and reveal a little bit about me.
I began my music studies at San Antonio College in San Antonio, Texas, and later transferred to Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas where I studied vocal studies under the direction of Brigitte Bellini (later with Juli Wood), studied intense opera studies under the guidance of Dr. Sam Mungo, and double majored in General Psychology with a focus and interest in Forensics and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry, which has contributed in helping my students address their issues of performance anxiety.
During my vocal studies, I also studied a secondary instrument, the piano, which required much diligence as well. Such diligence was instructed and exemplified by my main instructors, Dr. Mark Alexander and Cindy Ellis. I also embarked on the journey of the trumpet under the tutelage of Tony Romero and Dr. John Carroll.
During my music studies and as a performer, I performed frequently in the opera, choral, chamber, orchestra, and recital hall settings. I participated in numerous master classes and workshops under renowned opera singers, conductors, and stage directors and choreographers, such as Maestro Enrique Patron de Rueda, Placido Domingo, Mirella Freni, John DeLancie, and Maestro Ken Masur. During my career I have been finalist and semi-finalist of some of the most strenuous competitions, and I have been the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships. I have worked with a variety of vocal, trumpet, and piano teachers and coaches, which all contributed to my growth as a musician and educator. A great highlight was being selected by renowned soprano, Mirella Freni, to receive a master class under her guidance as an audition process for acceptance into her prestigious school, the Centro Universal del Bel Canto in Modena, Italy. On the operatic stage I have been seen in several roles, such as "La Ciesca" from Gianni Schicchi and "The Old Lady" from Candide. I also performed for several years as a professional chorister for the San Antonio Opera.
I feel truly blessed for all of the musical opportunities I have had, for each opportunity, big or small, made me a better musician and instructor.

I am currently a vocal clinician for Southwest Legacy High School, and on occasions, I remain active as a performer in the Classical and Jazz settings. However, I prefer teaching, composing, and creating musical education events for young musicians. I have been performing and teaching for many years now. Over the years, I have developed my own teaching methods and styles, and have experience working with students of all levels, and students with certain challenges, such as performance anxiety, learning challenges, and health issues, to name a few. Nonetheless, mastering the art of music is a lengthy process requiring a team effort. Let’s work together and make musical magic.
